Elite Competitions
Touch Football Australia holds many international and regional competitions. Some of these are:
International and Include the World cup, European Championships, etc.
National Touch Championships (1980 to 1996)
National Touch League 1997 –
The National Touch League (NTL) is a competition played in Australia between the strongest regions (franchises). As touch football is stronger in two or three states due to it’s origins in rugby league and union, a regional competition was established instead of a state competition. This allows some states to band together to compete. It also has allowed non-state organisations to enter as a franchise, eg, the defence forces.
State of origin (Australia)
Australian Touch Football holds a State of Origin series between the two historically strong states – Queensland and New South Wales, every 2 years. (This originates from the Rugby League State of Origin series).
