1973 / 1974

Touch Football started In Queensland with the formation of the Brisbane Touch Association in 1973 and the SEQTFA in 1974. This was a result of Brisbane Rugby League players seeing the growth of the sport in New South Wales.

The sport expanded quickly around Queensland in the 1970s.

As the sport of Touch expanded in Brisbane and regional areas of Queensland, it became necessary to form the Queensland Touch Association

1980

The first Queensland State Championships was held in Brisbane.

The QTA Referees Association was formed

1981

Inaugural National Club Championships was held at Southport.
