There are many social or park touch happenings in a variety of places around Brisbane, some of which are:
- Belbowrie
- Graceville
- Kenmore
- Coorparoo
- Victoria Park
- Chermside
These informal groups tend to play early in the morning, 6am or on a weekend afternoon. Turn up and play – no referee, no formal teams, and local rules may apply.
Graceville (Brisbane)
Graceville has few rules – no retreating in defence-just be behind the ball, no play the ball – just tap and pass. Some light-hearted sledging may be heard.
The Graceville games have their origins in early morning games at Kenmore in the 1980s and before that in the early 1970s at Toowong, in the Jack Cook park near Heroes Ave.
Other
At other venues the game is played more to the official touch rules: dummy half, five meters in defence etc.
