I attended the Melbourne Hotel meeting in 1974 when the first touch breakaway competition was formed. I subsequently played for the Hawks until 1980. I then had a number of seasons with United. I played in a number of competitions including the University of Queensland comp. In the 90s I refereed for about 6 years mainly at Whites Hill but also in the Uni comp and other places. I was doing about 10 games a week as well as playing. I have written a book on Rugby League called Voices from Brisbane rugby league.
