Australia: Organisational charts
In Australia, the sport is broken down firstly to states, then to regions. Then within each region local associations organise and mange competitions.
Representative competitions are organised across many levels – within regions, between regions, and between states (State of Origin).
Australia also has what is known as the NTL – the National Touch league. Due to the major strength of touch football being in only 3 states, in the 1990s a national league was created which split QLD and NSW into regions (known as permits), and grouped other regions into combined permits. Since then, the NTL has expanded to introduce elite divisions. Refer: National Touch League (NTL)
